I have loved horses for as long as
I can remember. I learnt to ride as a child and for many years
longed for a pony of my own and purchased my first pony, Brookie,
when I started work. She was an unregistered part bred Arabian mare.
My love of the Arabian horse grew from there.
I purchased my first pure bred in 1987
and over the years I have been lucky enough to be involved in
showing [both inhand and under saddle], dressage, show jumping and
breeding Arabians. My
passion for Arabian horses was helped by my purchase of a small yard
at the foot of the Clent Hills, Worcestershire in 1993, which is now
the home of Chapel Lane Arabians.
Over time I have learnt allot about
Arabians and their bloodlines and have focused my interest in both
English/Crabbet & Babson
[Egyptian] horses since my purchase of African Shah in 1991.
I am still as passionate about
Arabians as I have always been and feel honoured to have been
associated with all of my Arabians, all very different but special
in their own way. I love attending shows and being involved with the
production of horses for the show ring and trying to promote
Arabians to people who haven’t been lucky enough to have had an
Arabian in their lives, yet. I judge at local shows and although
this is a challenging experience, its one that I enjoy.
This is just the beginning of my
story and I hope I will continue to love and learn more and more
about Arabians as time goes on.
Visit ‘Our
Arabians’ to see the horses, which have enriched my life.
